Dr. Ivan Stoev MD,FAANS is a Board-Certified Neurosurgeon who performs a variety of brain and spine procedures. He has a specialty training in minimally-invasive spine surgery. Dr. Stoev graduated from the University of Miami School of Medicine at the top of his class as a member of the elite Alpha-Omega-Alpha medical society. He completed his neurosurgery residency at one of the top ten programs in the USA at Washington University/Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis. After residency, he completed a Spine Surgery Fellowship at the University of Miami, where he specialized in traditional, complex and minimally-invasive spine surgery.
Dr. Stoev believes that every patient's circumstances are different. There are many aspects to every person's life and many factors to consider when planning a surgery. There is a lot more to a person than just a brain and spine. We make decisions together with the patients as a team. Pairing the right patient with the right surgery is the art of medicine and also the difference between a good surgeon and a great one. Dr. Stoev's promise to his patients is that the advice and treatments that he offers to his patients are the same he would offer to his own family members.

Dr. Stoev has been involved in quality improvement of healthcare since his residency training. He has published papers on cost reduction and healthcare efficiency. With the use of minimally-invasive techniques, patients have reduced cost and length of hospitalization, faster recovery, reduced post-operative pain and decreased incidence of infections and other complications.
